Getting to Quechee

Quechee sits just west of the I-89 and I-91 junction, but the last miles feel distinctly rural. A car remains useful for the gorge, VINS, Woodstock, inns, and trail access.

Boston

Use I-93 and I-89

The direct Boston approach is roughly two hours and fifteen minutes before traffic. Friday departures and peak foliage weekends can add substantial time.

Albany

Cross Vermont on US-4

The western approach is scenic and increasingly rural. Plan the final stretch in daylight during bad weather or foliage traffic.

Rail

White River Junction is the Amtrak stop

The station is about fifteen minutes east by road. Arrange a rental car, taxi, rideshare, or pickup in advance; Quechee is not a walkable station arrival.

Air

Check Lebanon's limited air service first

Lebanon Municipal Airport is about twenty minutes from Quechee, but schedules are limited. Burlington, Manchester, Boston, Albany, and Bradley require longer road transfers and may offer more flight choices.

Keep the car after check-in

The mill and covered bridge form one compact cluster, but the gorge, state park, VINS, Dewey's Mills Pond, lodging, and Woodstock are spread along river roads and US-4. Save offline directions, watch for wildlife and cyclists, and never use a narrow shoulder as an improvised scenic pullout.
